The Edgewater Farmstand provides a direct retail outlet for the crops grown here at Edgewater Farm as well as the Putnam Farm in Cornish. Our stand is attached to the home farm, and is located on Route 12-A in Plainfield. During the 2010 -2011 winter we renovated the retail area of the old existing farmstand. Coolers were moved, employee receiving workspaces were improved, allowing for improved movment for both employees and customers. A separate commercial kitchen was added as well to allow us to take extra fruit and produce and turn it into salsas, preserves, pestos and take home salads.
Our Route 12 A stand will open its doors in June to herald the advent of strawberry season and the first of the summer vegetable crops. When in season, we offer a complete line of produce, from arrugula to zucchini with everything in between. At the right time of year, our stands also provide quarts of hand-picked strawberries, blueberries, black raspberries or raspberries. In addition to produce and plants from Edgewater’s fields and greenhouses, the farmstand offers locally-produced dairy products, free range eggs, baked goods, seasonal fruits and jams, and maple and honey products . We are closed by mid-October, usually at the time of the first black or killing fall frost. You will also find our produce at both the
Lebanon,White River, Lyme and Hanover Coops and at Rum Brook Market in Grantham. We donate extra produce to Willing Hands, a local non profit organization that collects from local farms and stores and coordinates the distribution to senior homes and food banks.
